In Kabul, Fazl confident of a breakthrough

PESHAWAR: JUI-F emir Maulana Fazlur Rehman arrived in Kabul on Sunday to hold talks with senior Afghan Taliban leaders on the regional security situation, a spokes­man for his party said.


JUI-F leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman arrived in Kabul with a delegation, causing a traffic halt for security. He is set to hold meetings in the Afghan capital and attend a dinner hosted by Maulvi Abdul Kabir. The visit is part of his diplomatic efforts, with the Afghan Taliban chief spokesman confirming his arrival and schedule.


Maulana Fazlur Rehman has arrived in Kabul with a delegation and will engage in diplomatic meetings. The visit aims to address regional and security issues, with discussions planned between Fazlur Rehman and key Taliban leaders. The JUI-F leader intends to raise Pakistan’s security concerns and seek resolutions. Tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, recent terrorist attacks, and the deportation of illegal Afghans have strained relations. Fazlur Rehman’s support for the Senate’s resolution seeking election postponement on security grounds aligns with his party’s stance. He emphasizes the need for a conducive atmosphere for fair elections.
