ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Imran Khan on Thursday sought an end to “political engineering”, calling for giving people the freedom to vote and stressing that the alleged involvement of certain institutions in politics has led to a significant breakdown in the country’s governance.
PTI founder Imran Khan acknowledges political limitations due to “establishment control” but expresses readiness for dialogue to ensure free and fair elections. He rejects aligning with PPP and criticizes recent survey results showing PML-N as the leading party. Khan’s indictment in the £190m corruption case is deferred until after Feb 8 elections. He questions the court’s handling compared to other cases involving Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari. Khan also faces indictment in the May 9 violent protests case, with the next hearing scheduled for Feb 6.
