Cambodia-US side agrees to set up orientation committee to plan agricultural cooperation for the benefit of Cambodian farmers

Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, Tina, held a working discussion with US Ambassador to Cambodia, Patrick Murphy, on March 4th at the Ministry. The meeting highlighted the longstanding cooperation between the Ministry and the United States.

Tina outlined the Ministry’s policies and priority programmes aimed at sustainable agricultural sector development, economic growth, and environmental conservation. Patrick Murphy affirmed continued US support for these initiatives.

Discussions also covered future projects focusing on agricultural development, natural resource conservation, and One Health initiatives to prevent animal-to-human transmission of diseases. The US Ambassador commended the transparency of information exchange among relevant ministries, contributing to effective disease prevention.

Both sides expressed commitment to honest and transparent cooperation. They agreed to establish an orientation committee to align agricultural projects with the Royal Government’s priority policies, serving the interests of Cambodian people and farmers.
