Cambodia attends tourism cooperation meeting in Thailand

Minister of Tourism Sok Soken is leading a delegation to the 3rd Cambodia-Thailand Ministerial Meeting on Bilateral Tourism Cooperation in Bangkok, Thailand today and tomorrow. The event is hosted by his Thai counterpart, Sermsak Pongpanit, and aims to strengthen tourism ties between the two nations.

The Ministry announced yesterday that the meeting will be held under the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Tourism Cooperation signed between Cambodia and Thailand in 2014.

The meeting will focus on several key agenda items, including discussing and exchanging views on tourism development, updating the Joint Action Plan on Tourism Cooperation for 2023-2025, and adopting a Joint Statement to enhance bilateral tourism efforts based on recommendations from both countries’ heads of government.

A significant highlight of the meeting will be a bilateral session between the Cambodia Tourism Marketing and Promotion Board (CTB) and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). This session aims to foster collaboration between the private sectors of both countries, leading to the establishment of a joint action programme to boost tourist flow and attract international visitors. The mutual initiative aligns with the Ministry of Tourism’s strategic initiative “BUILD + 3Ds,” which seeks to expand opportunities and promote Cambodia’s tourism potential regionally and globally.
