PTI’s Qureshi, Haleem Adil successfully appeal election candidature from Sindh

The Sindh High Court’s (SHC) election appellate tribunal on Friday accepted the appeals of PTI Vice-Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi, his son Zain and party provincial president Haleem Adil Sheikh against the rejection of their candidatures for the upcoming polls.
In a recent development, the nomination papers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and his son Zain Qureshi, along with PTI’s MPA Haleem Adil Sheikh, have been accepted by the election tribunal. The candidates contested the rejection of their nomination papers for the NA-214 and NA-238 constituencies. The decision follows PTI Central Vice President Firdous Shamim Naqvi’s successful appeal. Qureshi and Zain’s candidature faced objections related to asset details, income source, and tax payment, while Sheikh’s papers were rejected for non-disclosure of police/anti-corruption clearance and a missing No Dues Certificate from the provincial assembly. The tribunal declared the objections illegal and instructed the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to accept their nomination papers.
