PPP suffers setback as NA ticket-holder leaves party

MUZAFFARGARH: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has suffered a setback in the Alipur/Jatoi areas of the district where former provincial minister Haroon Sultan Bukhari, who had joined the party one year ago, has now severed ties with the party.
Former PPP candidate, Mr. Bukhari, switched to JUI-F and secured a ticket for NA-177, PP-272, and PP-272. Previously a PPP member, his move affected the party’s candidate selection in influential families, particularly the Jatoi family. Despite initial support, Mr. Bukhari’s departure leaves PPP without a candidate in the mentioned constituencies. The Jatoi brothers, once PPP loyalists, have shifted allegiance to PTI.
