Gohar warns against pushing PTI to ‘point of no return’

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has said that those in power should realise that the party has been subjected to a lot already and shouldn’t be pushed to the point of no return.

In an interview with Voice of America Urdu, PTI’s Mr. Gohar expressed concerns about ongoing “vengeful actions” against PTI during the election process. He urged those in power to avoid pushing the situation to a point of no return and emphasized the need for dialogue and collaboration with rivals. Mr. Gohar warned of potential exploitation by a third force if differences are not resolved. He claimed that some institutions were supporting PTI’s rivals and criticized the Election Commission’s focus on PTI’s foreign funding and intra-party elections. Regarding the loss of PTI’s symbol, he highlighted the impact on reserved seats and the upcoming elections for president, prime minister, and Senate. Mr. Gohar denied PTI’s involvement in sabotaging the army chief’s appointment and stated that any leader’s statement on the matter is a personal opinion. He expressed confidence in the Supreme Court, awaiting the detailed order on the ‘bat’ symbol issue and planning to file an intra-court appeal. Mr. Gohar pledged to stay engaged in the political field, emphasizing the importance of PTI’s presence in the assembly. He called for a general amnesty for PTI leaders and workers allegedly involved in the May 9 attacks, proposing a judicial commission for investigation and decision-making. Finally, he asserted that PTI, as a party, is not engaged in anti-state activities.
