Traffic on Karakoram Highway to remain suspended till tomorrow due to landslides in GB

Heavy snowfall and rain triggered landslides, leading to the closure of the Karakoram Highway (KKH) in Gilgit-Baltistan. Traffic on the KKH will remain suspended until February 23 for clearing operations. Other major roads like Baltistan Road, Gilgit-Chitral Road, and Astore Road have been opened for traffic. The closures have caused fuel supply disruptions and increased prices of fresh produce, impacting residents and tourists. The GB government issued a weather alert for heavy rainfall and snow from February 19 to 27, prompting officials to remain vigilant for emergency situations.
